Blog Post: Get Out of Your Comfort Zone!

If you are looking for a job, one of the activities that you must engage in is networking. People hire job candidates that they know or that are recommended by people that they trust. I’ve heard different figures, but somewhere around 80% of jobs are filled by individuals that have a prior relationship with the company.

This means that a job is created and the person that winds up with the job either knows or was recommend to the hiring manger.  The bottom line is that it is much easier to get hired for a job if you are known and trusted by the individuals making the hiring decision. 
This is why you must get out there and network.

One networking event that I can recommend is taking place Wednesday April 15, 2009 at America’s Backyard.  It called the Pink Slip Party. It’s going to be a huge event with opportunities to network with potential employers in an alternative setting. I hope to see you there.
