Gregory Marrufo is the Senior Director of Human Resources for Wal-Mart Information Systems Division.   In this position he plans and executes the strategic HR direction for the technology division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.  Mr. Marrufo will address HRPBC with "A Peek Into my World -- Wal-Mart Information Systems". He will talk about the unique challenges he faces every day. His HR department is the only department in the corporation which supports the entire (Global) Information Systems function. He will talk about initiatives he has implemented to ensure that communication is consistent, policy and programs are fair, and how worldwide ethical issues are managed.   He will review some of the best practices that Wal-mart has developed in the area of utilizing technology to build and maintain a nurturing culture on a global level.  He will also speak about the programs that Wal-mart has put in place to ensure that they remain competitive and innovative in a company with almost 2 million employees worldwide.
 
Bringing the topic closer to home, Mr. Marrufo will speak about the metrics and business acumen that is required from HR professionals who want to be strategic within their organization. He will discuss the importance of HR professionals knowing the business (internally) and the industry (externally) to add the most value to their organizations.
