Blog Post: Great Day for Young Adults Exploring Careers in Miami

What an awesome experience we had this Friday! Students from several local educational organizations gathered today at the Jobing.com Miami Office to interact with local human resources and industry professionals in fields such as financial industry, government, cruise industry, and sales.

Twenty-five students from local colleges, high schools and vocational programs participated in the event. The Mayor’s Office was present as well as Miami Dade Police, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Washington Mutual, Management Resource Institute, and of course, Jobing.com. The program started at 9AM and by 12:30PM people were still in the office……chatting and asking questions. Overall, very successful….both employers and students had a blast and were very engaged!

Human Resources professionals and industry specialist used this forum to share their experience and career advice with local students interested in pursuing careers in those industries. Who can better explain to hate incoming workforce the realities of the workplace than those who are currently working in that industry? Some of the participating schools Miami Dade College , Lindsey Hopkins Educational Center , Miami Job Corps, and Miami Lakes Educational Center. Professionals from a diverse range of industries including financial services, cruise industries, entertainment, crime scene investigation unit and event an image consultant were among the local industries represented.

Jobing Foundation partnered with the Greater Miami Society for Human Resources Management (GMSHRM) to celebrate this year's Job Shadowing Day.
