The Part-time Adult Education Instructor is responsible for teaching ESOL in the classroom and in the computer lab up to thirty (30) hours per week. The individual will be part of the REVEST team of Adult Education instructors and assists in evaluating curriculum, textbooks, software and materials.

  • Maintains a high quality program of instruction
  • Works to develop best practices and learner-oriented strategies to maintain high rates of retention and measurable success
  • Maintains accurate attendance, book distribution, and grading records
  • Conducts Employability Skills Seminars and CASAS Test Preparation seminars as part of classroom instruction
  • May also conduct GED and Citizenship preparation classes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in ESL or related field or specialized subject matter from a regionally accredited institution with three (3) years of relevant teaching experience; or Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of relevant teaching experience
  • Experience in VESOL and use of multimedia computer programs desired
  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to use computer applications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
