The Coordinator assists the Executive Director of The Center @ Miami Dade College with promotion and marketing activities.

  • Pitches and provides information to national and local newspapers, magazines, and media
  • Works with various target groups and sectors of the South Florida community to inform them about Center programs
  • Conceptualizes, develops, and writes special media release on specific Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA) stories, calendar items, special events targeting the English and Spanish speaking population of Miami Dade and Broward Counties
  • Works with the Media Relations Department to accommodate a;; media requests and conduct on-going follow-up calls, faxing, an developing relations
  • Oversees the development and distribution of all promotional items
  • Assists with the development of e-mail and other electronic communications to promote events and activities
  • Assists with website design and content for FCLA sites
  • Develops and executes marketing plan for Translation Market
  • Develops marketing plans and timelines for other projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and three (3) years of related work experience
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications
  • Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel to other college campuses, educational institutions, and outreach centers
  • Ability to work well in a multi-cultural and multiethnic environment with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
