Rehab Coordinator 


The Houston Astros are seeking a Minor League Rehab Coordinator to join the Sports Medicine & Performance Team.  This position will play a key role in getting our injured minor leaguers healthy and back to the field as quickly as possible.  In addition, the Minor League Rehab Coordinator will work closely with our Minor League Medical Coordinator to direct player care at the Minor League level. 


  • This person is expected to be located in West Palm Beach, FL
  • Astros will help with relocation


  • Responsible for rehabilitation of minor league players and for the coordination of rehab players across the Astros system
  • Assist Minor League Medical Coordinator in directing player care for our minor league players
  • Work closely with the Astros’ Strength & Conditioning staff to develop and execute player specific return-to-progressions
  • Communicate with Astros physicians regarding minor league player rehab
  • Collaborate with Major League Sports Medicine staff to develop the following:
    • Organization standard return-to-play progression plans
    • Athlete assessment program
    • Individualized player plans based on the assessment results
    • Continuing education plan for Sports Medicine & Performance staff
  • Act as Clinical Educator to our minor league Sports Medicine staff on such topics as rehab techniques, proper assessment techniques, etc.
  • As employee shows interest and/or has time, he or she may get involved in the following:
    • Implementation of technology in the rehab setting at the Spring Training complex
    • University research collaborations
    • Sports Science initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Masters in Physical Therapy
  • Certified athletic trainer preferred
  • CSCS preferred
  • Experience in a training room setting preferred
  • Baseball experience is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred
  • Eligible for state licensure in Florida
