Summary:

Responsible for the management and coordination of all payroll related activities for employees including the recording of their hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics and efficiency reports, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls in compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws.

 

This position will also be responsible for implementing, administering, interpreting and communicating to senior leaders the results of our payroll analytic program.

 

The preferred candidate will possess strong communication skills with the ability and enthusiasm to educate managers and senior leaders.

 

Specific Duties:

  • -Implement and act as the administrator for the payroll analytic program
  • -Conduct payroll analysis using ADP analytic tool and provide feedback to management
  • -Directs the review of personnel records to determine names, rates of pay, and occupations of newly hired workers, and changes in wage rates and occupations of employees on payroll. Directs the recording of new or changed pay rates in computer files
  • -Directs computation of pay according to company policy, and state and federal wage guidelines
  • -Directs the processing of tips, service charges, bonuses and commissions
  • -Directs the compilation and preparation of other payroll data such as 401(k), deferred compensation, insurances, and garnishments
  • -Reviews and approves payroll deductions
  • -Assist with workers compensation audits
  • Assist with 401(k) audits
  • -Interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures
  • -Directs preparation of government reports
  • -Reviews time edits to ensure accuracy and conformance to law
  • -Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy
  • -Issues written and oral instructions
  • -Responsible for conducting departmental payroll audits for all departments on an annual basis
  • -Manages a collaborative, working relationship with Human Resources at all times
  • -Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
  • -Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates
  • -Directs the resolution of payroll discrepancies
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the payroll department, including one or more individuals
  • -Assists with the preparation of the daily labor report for general distribution
  • -Assists with payroll reconciliations as deemed necessary
  • -Additional duties as may be assigned

Skill / Requirements

  • -Ability to apply payroll law to processes and make recommendations to senior leaders which will benefit the Club and its associates
  • -Understanding of benefits and payroll law
  • -Ability to quickly and accurately enter information into ADP
  • -Proficient in use of MS Excel, MS Word and ADP
  • -Ability to analyze reports and exercise prudent judgment and decision-making
  • -Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage and communicate with associates, senior leaders, auditors and vendors
  • -Ability to use calculator with reasonable speed and accuracy
  •  

Education:     Four year college degree preferred

 

Experience:   5+ years of Payroll experience within an organization with minimum of 500 employees.

2-5 years of Managerial/Supervisory experience

2-5 years of experience with ADP required                               

Payroll analytics required

Experience with tips preferred

 

Licenses or Certificates: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
