Position Overview:
The Assistant Director of Rooms will support the Hotel Manager to ensure the financial performance, guest satisfaction and improvement of all processes related to the all housekeeping, front desk, Concierge, Guest Services, Guest Relations, Valet and HIVE. Provides strategic leadership and direction to ensure the Rooms division drives guest and team member engagement, achieves operational and financial excellence and upholds brand standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in both Housekeeping and Front Office in a senior role such as Director of Front Office or Director of Housekeeping at a 5-star property for the last 5 years with a minimum of 300 + rooms.

• Leading Rooms Team
• Provide inspirational leadership to enliven the 1 Hotel Vision, Mission and Compass- deliver on Our Promise, provide Good-Natured Service and uphold our Brand Pillars
• Ensure Forbes standards are executed and conduct daily audits
• Develop and communicate a division strategy/ message regarding departmental goals to produce metrics that meet and exceed department performance expectations
• Managing Profitability and Revenue Goals. Analyzes services issues, identify trends and make process improvement recommendations
• Develop an operational strategy to increase all aspects of service delivery and staffing levels needed to maximize budget goals
• Reviews reports and financial statements to determine Rooms operations performance against budget
• Ensuring and Providing Exceptional Customer Service
• Demonstrates and communicates key drivers of guest satisfaction for the brand’s target customer
• Reviews guest feedback with leadership team and ensures appropriate follow-up action is taken
• Stays visible and interfaces with customers on a regular basis to obtain feedback on quality of product, service levels and overall satisfaction
• Responds to as needed and handles guest problems and complaints
• Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities
• Recruit and select talented team members who will enhance the 1 Hotels culture and demonstrate functional expertise; ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to meet business demands
• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates through coaching, counseling, mentoring, and reviewing performance
• Fosters employee commitment to providing excellent service, participates in daily rallies and models desired service behaviors in all interactions with guests and employees
• Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and inspire others; advocate sound business decisions; demonstrate honesty and integrity; lead by example
• Set goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for successful performance.
• Maintain and encourage a culture of sustainability by hiring, training and leading to support team and guest facing initiatives and practices
• Build and maintain a sustainability focused culture and execute initiatives to enliven this culture such as providing insight on guest consumption and behavior and procurement of sustainable goods and initiatives.
